About
Babatunde Aléshé

A firm TV favourite and award-winning comedian, actor, presenter and podcaster, Babatunde Aléshé is one of the most popular and recognisable names in UK entertainment. With his infectious energy, natural warmth and razor-sharp observational comedy, Baba has become a hugely sought-after performer across television, live comedy, theatre, podcasting and branded entertainment.

His extensive television credits include The Jonathan Ross Show (ITV), The Last Leg (Channel 4), Live at the Apollo (BBC), Would I Lie To You? (BBC), Richard Osman’s House of Games (BBC), Guessable (Comedy Central), Sorry, I Didn’t Know (ITV), Rhod Gilbert’s Growing Pains (Comedy Central) and The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan. He is also a much-loved regular on the BAFTA-nominated Celebrity Gogglebox (Channel 4) and won a huge new audience as a fan favourite on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! (ITV).

Baba’s stand-up career has gone from strength to strength. His debut show Babahood became a major hit, selling more than 30,000 tickets and expanding to multiple legs, while his follow-up High Expectations became his biggest tour to date. His comedy draws on family life, fatherhood, growing up in London and the everyday absurdities of modern life, delivered with his trademark charisma and impeccable comic timing.

Alongside comedy, Baba is an experienced and versatile actor. His screen work includes Waking the Dead, Both Sides Now, Pelican Blood and The Naked Poet, while his theatre credits include Iya Ilé at Soho Theatre and Requiem for Tomorrow at the Shaw Theatre. In 2026 he joined the cast of William Ivory’s world-premiere comedy The Market Deeping Model Railway Club at Nottingham Playhouse, starring alongside Adrian Scarborough and a distinguished ensemble of British stage and screen performers.

Baba is equally successful in podcasting. In 2022, his Mission Imagination podcast, created in association with Penguin, won the prestigious ARIAS Award. He also co-hosts Then & Now with his wife Leonie Aléshé, exploring childhood memories, family life and their experiences as parents. In 2025 he launched his weekly podcast Man Like You with Eddie Kadi & Mo Gilligan.

Baba has also become a hugely successful brand collaborator, working with major names including Marks & Spencer, Fifa, Tesco, Sky and Boots.
