THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and commercially aware Talent Manager to join UTC Artist Management. This is a hands-on management role for someone who understands that artist management goes far beyond booking work or negotiating deals.A Manager who understands that you are the architect of an Artists’ career.
You will be responsible for developing, managing and protecting artists’ careers, acting as a trusted adviser and central point of contact across their professional lives.
You will work closely with artists, agents, brands, production companies, casting directors, creative partners & industry professionals to create opportunities and ensure every aspect of an artist’s career is being strategically managed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Artist Management & Career Development
Take day-to-day responsibility for a new roster of exceptional artists and their careers.
Build strong, trusted and long-term relationships with each artist.
Understand each artist’s ambitions, strengths, personality and long-term goals.
Develop individual career strategies and identify opportunities for growth.
Advise artists on professional decisions, opportunities and career direction.
Help artists navigate the challenges and opportunities of a fast-changing entertainment industry.
Identify opportunities that may sit outside an artist’s traditional career path.
Business Development & Opportunities
Proactively identify new commercial, creative and career opportunities.
Bring in strong relationships with brands, production companies, casting directors, broadcasters, agencies, promoters, studios and other relevant industry partners.
Bring in new business and opportunities for UTC and its artists.
Attend industry events, meetings, showcases and networking opportunities.
Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging opportunities.
Think creatively about how artists can expand their profile, audience and commercial potential.
Negotiation & Commercial Management
Lead or support negotiations around bookings, partnerships, endorsements, appearances and other commercial opportunities.
Understand contracts, deal structures, fees, usage, exclusivity and commercial terms.
Monitor fees, commissions, expenses and other financial considerations for your own slate of talent.
Ensure agreed deals and commitments are delivered effectively.
Relationship Management
Bring in and maintain exceptional relationships across the entertainment industry.
Act as a professional and trusted representative of both the artist and UTC.
Communicate effectively with agents, clients, brands, production teams and other stakeholders.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with absolute discretion.
Resolve issues calmly, professionally and proactively.
Internal Collaboration
Work closely with the wider UTC team to develop and execute artist strategies.
Share ideas, contacts, opportunities and market intelligence.
Contribute to the growth and development of UTC Artist Management.
Support other members of the team and contribute to a positive working culture.
Take an active role in developing UTC’s reputation, network and future talent pipeline.
Raising & tracking relevant invoicing for Artists, working collaboratively with Accounts.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an individual with proven experience in artist, talent, entertainment or influencer management. You should have a strong understanding of how careers are built and the confidence to operate at a senior level.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience managing talent or artists within the entertainment industry.
A strong existing network of relevant industry relationships.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation and commercial awareness.
Demonstrable experience developing talent and securing opportunities.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple artists, projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail.
Confidence dealing with senior industry professionals and clients.
Ability to work independently and make sound professional judgements.
Strong understanding of confidentiality, professionalism and reputation management.
Commercially minded with an entrepreneurial approach.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
A genuine passion for talent and the entertainment industry.
