    The Role

    As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a dynamic, reliable and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to take ownership of bookkeeping and financial operations. You’ll work closely with our Directors, creative teams and external accountants to ensure our day-to-day bookkeeping is accurate, efficient, and aligned with best practice. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and enjoys balancing precision with creativity.

    Hours: Approx. 2 days per week
    Location: South-East London
    Salary: Competitive, based on experience

    Responsibilities

    • Day-to-day transaction processing — Record income, expenses, sales, and purchases in accounting software (Xero).

    • Accounts Payable — Process supplier invoices, ensure timely payments, and maintain positive supplier relationships.

    • Accounts Receivable — Prepare and send invoices, track outstanding payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.

    • Bank and credit card reconciliations — Regularly match transactions to statements and investigate discrepancies.

    • General ledger maintenance — Post journal entries and ensure records are accurate and up-to-date.

    • Financial reporting — Produce monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries for management.

    • VAT returns — Prepare and submit VAT returns in liaison with external accountants.

    • Payroll and HR support — Assist external accountants with payroll processing, ensuring accurate records for salaries, pensions, holiday/sick leave and statutory payments.

    • Expense management — Process staff expenses and company credit card claims.

    • Budget monitoring — Track actual spend against budgets for multiple projects tours, live events, podcasts and film productions.

    • Manage production/tour budgets or project-based accounts — Monitor costs, track revenues, and ensure accurate allocation of expenses to specific productions, tours, live events, or client projects.

    • Cash flow tracking — Maintain up-to-date forecasts to help with planning of Live tours and event management.

    • Filing and compliance — Keep digital and paper records in line with HMRC requirements.

    • Audit preparation — Compile requested reports and records for annual accounts and audits in liaison with external accountants.

    • Process improvement — Suggest and help implement ways to make finance processes more efficient and user-friendly for non-finance staff.

    • General finance administration — Provide ad-hoc support to directors and project managers as required.

    Person Specification Essential:

    • Bookkeeping qualification (e.g., AAT) or equivalent experience.

    • 3-4 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or finance—preferably in a creative, small business or SME context.

    • Experience with accounting software (Xero) and strong Excel skills.

    • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and integrity with sensitive data.

    • Clear communication skills, able to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.

    • A collaborative, proactive, and fairness-driven approach.

    • Ability to work autonomously

    Desirable:

    • Familiarity with the entertainment or creative sector.

    • Experience managing multiple budgets or project-based accounts.
