About
Guvna B

3x MOBO Award Winner. 3x Urban Music Awards. Amazon Best Selling Author. 10 x Albums

Guvna B is a triple MOBO Award-winning rapper, bestselling author and broadcaster whose career has made him one of the most distinctive and influential voices in British rap and culture.

Born and raised in East London to Ghanaian parents, Guvna B began making music at 15 and has spent more than 15 years carving out his own lane, blending grime, hip-hop, gospel and deeply personal storytelling. He became the first rapper to top the UK Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart and has built a career spanning ten studio albums, all while remaining independent of a major label. His 2023 album The Village Is On Fire, featuring artists including Ghetts and his cousin Michaela Coel, debuted at No. 1 on the Official UK Hip-Hop and R&B Albums Chart. His latest album, This Bed I Made, released in 2026, continues his commitment to honest, vulnerable songwriting.

Alongside music, Guvna B has established himself as an acclaimed author and broadcaster. His memoir Unspoken: How I Faced the Man Within the Man became an Amazon bestseller, exploring masculinity, grief, identity and emotional vulnerability. He later co-authored the children’s book Where Grandad Lives, helping families have meaningful conversations about grief and loss.

As a broadcaster, Guvna B has presented documentaries and programmes across the BBC and other major platforms, including Gospel Meets Hip-Hop, and regularly contributes to conversations around youth culture, faith, mental health, parenting and social issues. He is also the host of the CBeebies podcast Parenting Download, bringing warmth, humour and expert-led conversations to the realities of modern family life.

His work extends well beyond entertainment. Guvna B is Co-Chair of the board of trustees at Youth Music, the UK’s leading young people’s music charity, championing the transformative power of music in young people’s lives. He is also a trustee of the West Ham United Foundation and an ambassador for organisations including The Forward Trust and Power The Fight.

Passionate about giving young people a platform and helping them realise their potential, Guvna B has delivered workshops in more than 500 schools. His commitment to using culture for positive change is reflected in projects such as Massive, his viral West Ham anthem, through which he donated proceeds to support a child’s battle with neuroblastoma.

Whether through music, books, broadcasting, education or community leadership, Guvna B’s work is united by a belief in honesty, hope and the power of telling stories that make people feel seen.
