Josh James is one of the UK’s most exciting new comedy voices — a stand-up sensation, viral content creator and broadcaster whose sharp, deceptively clever punchlines combine warmth, edge and an unmistakable Essex charm.

A natural performer with a rapidly growing national following, Josh has already built an impressive live and screen CV. He has performed on The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan (Channel 4), appeared on Big Brother’s Late & Live (ITV), The Big Breakfast (Channel 4), Mo Gilligan’s Spotlight (Audible) and Fighting Talk (BBC Radio 5 Live). He has also supported Babatunde Aléshé on his smash-hit Babahood tour and Mo Gilligan on his In the Moment World Tour.

Josh’s stand-up is rooted in his distinctly Essex perspective, with material spanning relationships, family, celebrity culture, football, English identity and the everyday madness of modern life.

Alongside stand-up, Josh has become a formidable force online. His character-led sketches and topical comedy have repeatedly gone viral, drawing on football culture, recognisable personalities and the biggest stories of the moment — all filtered through the brilliantly relatable perspective of an Essex geezer. His work with major brands and sports personalities has seen his collaborations rack up multi-million views, particularly through his work with boxing names including Conor Benn and Eddie Hearn. His ongoing content partnership with global sports entertainment giant DAZN has further cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting crossover talents in comedy and sports entertainment.

Josh is also the creator & host of That Josh James Show, the hugely popular comedy podcast made for ‘the geezers and their birds’. Now hosted on Acast, the show has grown into a substantial platform in its own right, combining Josh’s trademark humour with unfiltered conversations that have become central to his online following.

2026 has marked a major step forward in Josh’s live career. His debut nationwide stand-up tour, Doin’ Alright, sold-out venues across the country before culminating in a sold-out show at London’s iconic Hackney Empire. Fresh from the success of the tour, the Doin’ Alright comedy special has now been released on YouTube, giving Josh’s rapidly expanding audience the chance to experience his stand-up beyond the live circuit.

Away from the stage and podcast studio, Josh is an established broadcaster, currently hosting the drivetime show on national DAB station Fix Radio. He is also core cast of football panel show Call Yourself a Fan alongside Alex Brooker.
