About Swarzy
Swarzy is an award-winning broadcaster, presenter, storyteller and campaigner, recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting next-generation voices across youth, sport, music, faith and climate action.
Known for her infectious energy, warmth and ability to connect with audiences, Swarzy has built an impressive career spanning radio, television, live events, digital platforms and social impact. Her radio journey began after winning a competition to become a presenter at KISS FM, eventually taking her to the BBC, where she became a leading voice on BBC Radio 1Xtra, Radio 1 and the voice of BBC Sounds.
Swarzy currently presents the BBC Radio 1Xtra Weekend Breakfast Show, bringing her trademark high-energy style and curiosity to audiences every weekend. Alongside music and entertainment, her love of community and social justice has led to contributions across BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio 4, where she has explored culture, current affairs and the issues affecting younger generations.
Faith is another important part of Swarzy’s work and storytelling. She presents BBC Radio 4’s Daily Service and Sunday Worship and has built an extensive portfolio within faith broadcasting, including God & Hip Hop for BBC 1Xtra and work with Songs of Praise. Her own journey to faith has shaped a deep love for people, community and the church, giving her a distinctive perspective on conversations around belief, identity and culture.
Swarzy is equally passionate about social change, sustainability and climate action. She has hosted panels at COP26and the BBC Climate Creative Forum, while using her platform to champion diversity, inclusion, womanhood and social mobility. She is a sought-after moderator and keynote speaker, having led conversations for organisations including Unilever, Ofcom, GroupM, ITV and CICC.
Her work also extends into youth development and creative opportunity. Swarzy founded Too Much Source, a platform created to celebrate Black British creatives and help the next generation navigate the creative industries. Through live events, exhibitions, workshops, panels and conversations, the platform has created valuable spaces for emerging talent to connect, learn and be recognised.
Sport is another major strand of Swarzy’s career. Her work has taken her across football, basketball and boxing, including launching Stormzy’s Merky FC HQ, presenting the Soccer Aid x adidas collaboration in 2024, hosting live formats for NIKE and the Commonwealth Games, and presenting a weekly boxing chat show for DAZN.
Her television career continues to grow, with credits including hosting live events for Britain’s Got Talent, The Voice UK and the ITV Creators’ Summit.
Swarzy’s contribution to broadcasting, culture and social impact has been recognised with Best Presenter at the UK Entertainment Awards and her inclusion in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Black History Month Next Generation Trailblazers.
